Some days it just isn't worth the loss [or, more accurately, non-gain] of ~$50 in exchange for some extra screwing around time, but I wasn't given a choice when they decided, "Aibo's sick, and we don't trust you yet to leave you in charge, so stay home." *shrug* Then again, it's nice having dinner while it's hot, rather than when it's reheated.
Yahoo! Answers isn't a very fulfilling place. Not that this is a surprise, but when I spend twenty minutes providing helpful phrases for someone asking for some basic Japanese and travel tips--just to try to be more helpful than "go to Babelfish"* and to +1 some of my karma count--then get voted DOWN [along with one of the other contributors doing exactly the same thing], it doesn't really encourage me to stick around.
*which doesn't provide pronunciation/romanization, and the speaker asked for spoken phrases, having specified being a Japanese n00b
Oddly enough, that question has NO Up votes. Vindictive bunch there. I'd vote, but I'm not Level 2 yet. I did get two "Best Answers": for finding a ZZ Top song through basic Google searching, and for stating that business days are the normal hours/days a standard 9-5 business is open. Hardly scholastic material.
--and the obvious, "So why do you go there?!" Because some folks were nice enough to answer the two questions I'd posed, and I'm karmically inclined to pay some of that off, even if it means going back and answering questions like, "ZOMG SERIOUS PREGNANCY QUESTOIN!! like, my friend was masutrbating in teh shower and now she feels somethign, could she be PREGNANT?!?!1"
...
I'm serious =|
Looks like all the Lucas groupies are keeping Indy in the top slots, though they clearly couldn't outdo the bored housewife soccer moms going to Sex and the City... ungh. We won't get a Narnia 4, will we =C
On to more pleasant things!
Inspired by seeing one of my characters' form-sakes [as it were] again during my shopping run, I scribbled out a drawing--with my wrist brace on, no less! [...yes, on my drawing hand]
Depending on how long y'all have followed my stuff, you WOULD know who the character is--it's just not obvious. Actually, this is a version of Form 2, so it's doubly-unintuitive, being a translation of a translation, but I'll leave it as an exercise to the viewer to figure out just what I'm talking about.
Which reminds me, I should work on getting old stuff posted again, now that the site redesign is basically functional--and I do mean BASICALLY =p
