2653.2: Here Comes The Rain, Still

Jan 23, 2008 14:17

Waking up is hard, because--as with most things in life--it's better if I don't need it, and when I need it, it's kinda crap. Going to bed is uncomfortable even with an electric blanket, as the bed is still cold under my pillow where it doesn't reach, and then when I lay down, my pulse starts pounding IN MY EAR and won't let me sleep, among other things. When I wake up, even if I want or need to get up, it's so warm and comfy that I don't wanna. Food, too: Things good for us [vegembles] don't taste as good as things bad for us [fats, sugars]. I think nature makes it hard for a reason, but it's obnoxious in the meantime.

Since putting my resumé online, I've been getting offers along the lines of "We saw your resume and have an exciting opportunity for you" and goes on to not describe a single thing about my qualifications, instead sounding like some kind of pyramid scheme and/or total shit job a la food service/retail. Today, I got a voicemail with an offer for Bankers Life and Casualty...?

Yah, I know \:'Remove the upper-left corner from a chessboard, then remove the lower-right corner, so you have a sixty-two square board, like this mess of code:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Take dominoes that cover exactly two squares on the board and try to cover the entire board. Can you do it? If so, show how. If not, explain why.
I dreamt a myth! I saw [and was in, for a while] a cartoon, and there were two people who were sledding along and fell through a hole in the ice. They thrashed about for a while, then froze into a comical, cleanly rectangular block of ice. I looked over my shoulder, and Jamie was there, so I pointed to that and said to him, "Myth! That's a myth, right? Can people flash-freeze like that?" He kinda shrugged as though to think about it.

Anyway, I think if by February the places where I applied don't get back with me, definitely temping =/
