2609.1: On Your Own
Agh, Semagic didn't save my full draft XB ...whatever, it was kinda rambly.
I got reamed for cards, $5/6 at best [or, 8, but I didn't like the design] by virtue of I didn't feel like going very far to get them. My dilemma is that Target is pretty much where I would get most of my general shopping done, and I don't really want to go back to "my" store until I get that CI position [or, whatever I get, if critical fail]. Germantown/Rockville is kinda far just to go to a different store, Wal-Mart is just as far [and I don't really like the place anyway], and anywhere else is POCKETBOOK RAPE.
I can't imagine the headache Scrooge McDuck had scrimping every goddamn penny =p I'm the prodigal son by comparison! [cheap and female though I might be]
Also, no Jelly Slugs. ANYWHERE. Goddamnit, the world needs more pear gummies!
Mum loaned us the His Dark Materials trilogy, though I said I wanted to try some more seeing the movie then reading the book, the last time for which I did that being HP-CoS, to which she replied J.K. had this way of rambling on and trying to cram so much stuff in there.
Previous attempts were The Princess Bride [a strange read, actually, especially if you don't realize he's making up the part about S. Morgenstern], The Secret of NIMH/Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, The Neverending Story [movies = ARGH], The Fox and the Hound, and I guess I could do all of the Philip K. Dick movies I've seen now [A Scanner Darkly, The Minority Report, etc.]. Almost everything else, I either read the book first or haven't yet.
Anyway, if you don't get a card from me by, oh, the new year, I prolly missed you =( by virtue of I lost/didn't know your addy, didn't know if it was still current, and/or I ran out of cards. [BOO] I seem to have had just enough, though, so that means I definitely missed somebody =( [crap]
