I've reached an impasse where I absolutely don't want to do ANYTHING. Again. This time, though, due to the severity of work, I not only have severe arthritis in all of my fingers [particularly in my left hand], I also find myself unwilling to do anything besides NeoJank... a lot because I suddenly seem to be on the verge of another bank interest upgrade [deliberately being inspecific about which one here] and want to see if I can get it tonight if I try hard.
Hint: Neopets seems to be one of if not THE only place where something inexpensive can possibly be worth more than a more expensive version--that is, a whole omelette is cheaper than a partially-eaten one o_O so turning Two Dubloon Coins into One Dubloon Coins ends up being fairly profitable once you know how to do it and have a sizeable starting investment.
With the contest out of the way, though, I find other projects uninteresting.
Nano really has it right when the notion of a deadline prompts productivity, because even when I stumble over a new idea and get in a writing groove, I end up writing half a page before running out of steam because I have no specific deadline for it. It may not help that I keep coming up with better ideas as I procrastinate over it, like the test image I did playing around with a character's design looked better the longer I fiddled with it and never finished... I may simply have to give up on publishing it for at least another year and worry about the new one instead, which would have a self-imposed deadline of... oh... end of the current Year of the Dog [for various reasons].
Relatedly, the art-letter I'm trying to compose for
tavicat is coming up on nine years in the making T_T apparently--I sent the first version in the mail shortly after the comic saw print [sometime around #6, maybe], and it got returned as No Such Address X/ and though Tavisha and Rikki have already started work on a
RC! comic beginning with a comment about how it's the ten-year anniversary of RC!'s original Sirius publication, I never got around to resending/revising the letter.
I mean, I restarted it, but it's still half-done at this point, and I don't want to send just a scribble for it taking THIS long to compose =p and yet, since there's no deadline for it, it may hit the decade point plus before it's done -_-;
I'm not posting my aforementioned contest entry until the winners are announced, though, even though I expect I'll get a bemused laugh and a "Sorry, you didn't win but I loved the entry" sort of form mail. It was the one for
Inverloch, incidentally.
Charles and I watched FMA Ep. 3, and I was heavily disappointed that they didn't show Den's leg going. It goes from "We scared Winry, puppy Den yaps" to two years later, adult Den mysteriously has automail. Why did they leave that out of the show? Their alchemy taking Den's leg is supposed to be a big issue, but they said, "Nah, they'll get scarred enough from the Raising Mom thing."
This is why anime-adaptations from not-yet-completed manga disappoint me. They by necessity have to take too many liberties with the story :/
