488: taking stock
Inventory is tonight, but as I'm off, anything that goes wrong as a result of mismanagement is now out of my hands. Though it meant I didn't get to go home as early as Melanie had promised, I totally went bonkers fixing things I found... those damn swim goggles especially, and FUCKING SPORTING GOODS! Sporting goods is eating our souls X(Melanie: Do you do caffeine?
Me: No... last time I did, I was awake for 36 hours straight.
Melanie: ...no, we don't need that, either.
I came to a revelation regarding what I feel is polluting my philosophically-minded journal with boring work crap, in the meantime, and if I can work everything out adequately, that will rock. Naturally, I can't say what I want to do in the very likely event I don't |:p but it'll no doubt help alleviate some of the nagging fear and self-loathing I have about myself that only seems to go away when I think about finishing my book [or, come next Nano, the next book].
Reunions are a maddening source of stress in terms of self-esteem over one's accomplishments! XO WHERE'S THE IMPRESSION?! I'm even flopping on my AA songs! ["Silent Hill 3rd Christmas Mix," "Kind Lady (Interlude)," "Dream a Dream," etc.] I can't go down to the reunion and get a C on Heavy, Reverse Scroll! That's worthless!
The lighter side is I have a headstart on the 20-year reunion... 9_9
Anyway, there was one bit I ought ["ought"] to mention: The Assets Protection guy [gad, I've already forgotten his name] dropped in on our huddle tonight and mentioned that it's tough hiring in this area. AP itself is supposed to have like six people, and for the last six months, he'd had only one other guy working with him. That's a bit depressing, that staff shortage pretty much kills any chance I have of transferring to Germantown so I wouldn't have to use my car except like once a month -_-; I'm kind of tired of the fifteen-minute drives, even if it's "only" fifteen minutes.
Scheduling is part of my plan, though. A huge part of it is cutting out Internet, because DAMN does that eat time I could be using >_< like writing this, for instance |:/
