373: singling

So it occured to me that, given the 33 hours to and 38 hours returning from Japan that the trip we're looking at taking is scheduling, I realized that I would need something to do for all that time. To hell with taking anything that I'm going to worry about getting lost or having stolen--which includes artwork... so I figured I'd take some of those logic puzzle things...

You know the ones X/

Unfortunately, as "faddish" as they seem, particularly with the total LACK of emphasis on their country of origin [you can't tell me a full-blooded American would have come up with that name], I can't entirely bring myself to buy any actual Sudoku books. Mind you, all I would really need is two puzzles--one to and one returning :p

I did actually manage to finish ONE on Christmas Day, though because that was a "Gentle" difficulty -_- ...unfortunately, any harder difficulties than that have me struggling to remember which items I've narrowed down, and I hate actually marking down temporary guesses [which I'm not 'supposed' to do ANYWAY].

The normal logic puzzles I would do [with the grids you would solve by putting ·s and Xs in the squares] end up taking up less of my time, but at the same time I can't put them down entirely until I've done them all. At least with Sudoku--like with crossword puzzles--I don't particularly care if I'm not able to solve one.

[Incidentally, it IS something of a dream of mine to be able to complete a normal, adult-level crossword puzzle entirely on my own... the best I got was halfway through one the other night, as crap as the solutions ended up being.]

So... uh... if you want to give me a Bon Voyage gift come May XD *not hinting at anything, nope* ¬_¬

japan, puzzley
