Jan 05, 2006 08:28

Oh, I finally found that quiz thingie meme I meant to do earlier but couldn't find :p

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Met the Penny Arcade guys... and went Blithering Moron in front of them, for that matter X/ [also, missed an AC, but I've sort of done that before in the sense of before I started attending]

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No kids ^^ unless you count the jurbur bebes ^^; For 2006, I want to finish the current storyline in my comic, as well as complete illustrations for my Nano entry.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
*shrug*

4. Did anyone close to you die?
If anyone has, I haven't been informed.

5. What countries did you visit?
Japan... IN MY MIND.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
I would like to actually own a home or be putting money towards it in the semi-near future, but it looks like we're staying put come April.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
25 December, when I gave Mum Mugg Scene It! Harry Potter edition and she was all OH SNAPS LET'S PLAY :D

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I actually finished a story! XB ...now what to do for an encore?

9. What was your biggest failure?
A lot of people give me the impression that it's staying in retail... :/ but, to be quite frank, I hate working, and in my specific place in retail I'm at least neutral towards the work, which is about the best I'm going to get. Things I "love" to do I end up hating as a job.

Getting boned in taxes was pretty low, though. Luckily, I've fixed that [hopefully].

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
For a long time, nothing but the normal RSI in my hands [both of them, though only one at any given time], then a fit of ick towards the end of the year when I not only was struggling to write but at work they demanded I pull overtime for the holidays X/

11. What was the best thing you bought?
not one, but TWO Ignition pads! *^^* [second courtesy of Charles's boss, though]

All of Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate OST ^^

...actually, I don't think I truly associate songs with years :p so none

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? Moderately more pleased. Better apartment, even if we could do without the nonpaying roomie.
II. thinner or fatter? DURP XB I think thinner, but I can't tell.
III. richer or poorer? A little better off... YOU SO NOSEY

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Most of my co-workers... |:/ STILL

26. What was the best book you read?
The Salmon of Doubt, though it's a bittersweet read.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Erm... keyboards at work?

28. What did you want and get?
The Complete Calvin and Hobbes 29. What did you want and not get?
Since my father mentioned it, a hybrid car, though I keep redoing the math in my head, and unless I'm well off or the price of batteries drops SEVERELY by the time mine would need a new one, a hybrid wouldn't really save me that much in overall costs over my six-year-old Civic. Mind you, I *do* want a car that gets a little better mileage, though I'm comfortable with Biscuit.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I'd have to say Narnia ran away with it, though HP4 and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit come quick on its heels XD *slightly* edging out Batman Begins and Aeon Flux.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Er... :' birthday... hmm... adebuh? :p

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
NO MARIA [Alternate: LESS RENT]

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
"I am Too Poor to Buy New Clothes" kind of a look.

34. What kept you sane?
Wuffie :(

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
[repeat] A lot of them look good. Looks aren't everything, though, and it's Charles who wakes me up every day... ;)

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I AM ANNOYED WITH IRAQ WARS.

37. Who did you miss?
My brother is insane, but I miss the twerp.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Melanie is about the closest I'm going to get to a good friend at work. At the absolute least, we have a shared understanding of the Absurdity at work.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you earned in 2005:
Did it really say "earned"? \:' *looks* ...I guess so.

I learned that dwelling on petty things only increases pettiness... that writing about every single offense against me only increased my contempt for myself upon rereading how petty I was being. In neglecting to record trivial occurences, I've felt a decreased negativity in myself and, subsequently, have enjoyed myself a little more.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Un, deux, trois...

:p

WELL, YOU TELL ME! I don't do lyricy songs.
