Ok, I admit it. I bit. I've heard so much about The Secret, that I used a discount and bought the Unabridged Book on CD and I'm listening to it right now. (No way in heck I'm paying retail for something like this.)
My first take on it? It's really presented rather sappy. Rhonda Byrne, the "author" speaks in this whispy, dramatic voice in explaining the steps of the secret. It's kind of annoying. My next thought - it's redundant. Rhonda makes a statement, then the statement is reinforced by several speakers and quotes from people in history, then Rhonda restates it again. Overall? It's good information if you're prepared to believe (or even attempt to believe) that visualization and positive thinking can lead to success and thanking the universe for the good things in your life will bring more success to you. That's it. That's the secret. The counterpoint is that if you think about crud all the time, you'll get crud.
If you know me in real life, and would like to listen to my copy of The Secret, let me know.
If you want to go to a website that is basically one big advertisement for the DVD, Book, or Book on CD, and really doesn't reveal a darn thing, go here:

I do plan on listening to the whole book more than once. It already reinforces information I've been given in self-hypnosis, bio-feedback, Landmark Education, sports (as a young person), Pollyanna,
Daruma, goal setting, and a bunch of other self-improvement techniques I've learned. You'll probably see some of that show up here just because everything seems to end up here at least in bits.
Let's all think happy thoughts together, shall we?
