Girls Aloud Concert

May 28, 2009 15:10

I've put this in my 101 Things journal too, as it was my number 86 to go to a music concert, but thought I'd put it here too just incase people don't have my other journal added...

Last night I went to see Girls Aloud at Wembley Arena with Rosie (my sister). Their concert was brilliant - I'd definitely go again! As well as doing some of their songs, they did a cover of Womanizer by Britney Spears and then Broken Strings by James Morrisson, which was just amazing - I love that song anyway, and it was a great cover :) They had 3 support acts (Julian Perretta, who was pretty good, Girls Can't Catch, who I wasn't sure about, and Emma Deigman, who was also very good.)

We had a bit of a train issue coming home though. Had to power walk (which was interesting as I was shattered to start with!) to Wembley Central Station, as the last train from Waterloo was at 23:43 and we were worried we'd miss it. So we got on the train at Wembley, but then the train came to a screeching halt just before Willesdon Junction Station and all the lights went out. So we sat there for a while then the driver came on the radio thing saying that there was a person on the track and he was just getting out to investigate. So pretty much the whole train is full of Girls Aloud fans all getting worried and speculating about what's happened/has the train hit someone/who is it etc? A bit later the driver then walks through the inside of the train on his radio, saying to someone that the guy has run off up the steps and they are going after him. So we sit a bit longer wondering what's happening. All of a sudden there is a huge bang on the side of our carriage - cue us all jumping like 6 foot in the air and a fair bit of swearing! Still don't know what that bang was :S Anyway, saw some blue flashing lights so I guess the police got involved. Meanwhile the driver has got back on but nothing is happening, despite trains going past us the other way. The driver then comes over the radio and says that where he had to stop the train is a part of the track that has no power, so basically the train is stuck. We then have to walk through the train and get out onto the platform, while the staff faff about trying to work out what to do. Meanwhile we are all stuck on a station in the middleof no-where with no buses or other trains to take us anywhere. We must have been there for about an hour and a half, then somehow they get the train moving and move it out the way, by which time my Dad has said he will just drive and pick us up as we've missed all of the trains back home. Anyway, basically the rest of the people had to get in the next train that came along and get off at Queen's Park for taxi's, unless they needed a station on the Bakerloo Line.

So finally, at 2:30am we arrived home feeling pretty exhausted!
