Phoebe (our pregnant cat) is in labor. My mom and I went to the store this afternoon for 45 fucking minutes and when we came home the cat had a kitten dangling by its neck from her vagoo for I don't know how long. Unfortunately she was stressed out to the umpteenth degree and had snapped the kitten's neck due to all of her movement before she managed to push it out. Its body was cold by the time she did.
I cried, of course. It was a cute little thing.
Now, almost 5 hours later, she hasn't had another one. I can hear a heartbeat (heartbeats?) so there are still kittens in there; it's getting them out that's the problem. The vet said that labors sometimes takes over a day for cats. WTF when our other cats had babies it took them both less than two hours.
