I chose this for “Loud” because it’s quite a loud, fast-paced song. It reminds me of Lost because of all the lies and secrets the survivors had. For example, Kate being a fugitive, Charlie being a drug addict, Sawyer being a conman, Sun learning English and planning to leave Jin, etc. It always struck me as a good song for the character’s past-lives.

Claire stands there with teary eyes as blue as the ocean she stands in front of. Charlie feels like erasing himself from existence as the many judging eyes fall upon him, wide-eyed and full of shock. He hands over the crying baby in his arms, his heart beating painfully loud inside his chest.
“Claire, I’m so sorry.”
Forgiveness seems a million miles away as he feels the agonising blows of John Locke’s fists, and then finds himself swallowed up by sea water as the rest of the survivors leave with lingering glares.

Ana knew people thought she was a cold woman. Their opinion of her was that she was cruel, spiteful and isolated. People didn’t usually warm to her and she learnt to accept that. She was the Ice Queen. But as Michael raises the gun in his hand and pulls the trigger, the bullet piercing through her flesh and her last attempt at speech nothing more than a few helpless squeaks, she has suddenly felt the coldest she has ever been.

This song reminds me of Lost, particularly the finale of Season three. I think the lyrics are just especially fitting for it as there’s been so much struggle, loss and angst between the characters. I linked to a REALLY old video of mine, back when I used WMM, to show how suited some of the lyrics are. I just think the song mirrors the experiences and struggles of the Losties quite well.

Claire woke up in the jungle , alone, as the sun peeked up from behind the trees. The air was thick and humid and she tried to suppress an urge to check on her baby.
Her father told her Aaron was gone, and so were her friends. When she had asked “where?”, he replied “home”.
As the warm sun shone in her eyes and she struggled to her feet, tying her hair back and grabbing her rifle, she hoped and hoped that they would be back soon.

I wanted to choose a good Lost song for this one, so I chose “The Call” by Regina Spektor. When I first heard this it reminded me so much of Lost, especially the series finale.
