I've just arrived home from a retreat in the Coromandel at Te Moata 6km out of Tairua.
The description of the place I was at:
Te Moata is a beautiful retreat centre situated six kilometres north of Tairua in 850 acres of protected native forest in the heart of the Coromandel peninsula.
It's run by a group of women who are the caretakers of it. The meals are all vegetarian and beautifully prepared and yummy!
I was on a Weekend Retreat with Ute Strub, noted physiotherapist and Pikler pedagogue and Andrea van Gosen consultant and teacher of the Pikler Play Room concept.
I had Ute and Andrea and Maureen staying with me when they were in Auckland.
I was so proud to have my lecturer from Budapest staying with me.
I learned so much more from them in the last week and am looking forward to lots of new challenges in my work and life.
The most amusing time was today when Stu and I were playing around with the equipment (like we were supposed to) and ended up playing horsey and setting up little jumps for ourselves.
He wrapped a rope around my arms and I was the horse!
It helped that I had two little pigtails and they looked like little ears.
I got a lift home from my old lecturer from teachers college and Stu and they spent the beginning part of the trip discussing hoooking me up with another awesome teacher they know. I giggled a lot and thought it very amusing.
I am too tired to right a very concise and well-written update. So this will have to do.
I look very cute in pigtails and am enjoying my post grad diploma.
