The J-thing's Observation of the Day
Saw this article in the Straits Times yesterday about that project officer in NTU's Division of Information at the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) who was found hanged in his balcony. The article itself isn't of much interest but this comment below the article popped right out at me:Very likely the 2 events are linked. The person who hanged himself could have felt bad in contributing towards the occurrence of the earlier stabbing and suicide. This officer, David and Prof Chan may be working together.

Wow, the logical leap is amazing! Just because they were in the same School of EEE, we can immediately conclude that it is not merely possible but "very likely" that the 3 people were working together and the guy hanged himself out of guilt? That's like saying that 2 lecturers in the Arts Faculty who met with an accident were very likely to be working together even though one taught Geography and the other Chinese Studies.
No wonder they say that if stupidity were a valuable natural resource, this country would be very rich indeed.
