It's a good day.

I am having an excellent day!

Firstly, because several people have told me I look pretty. Haircut a success!

Secondly, I got two tests back, one in Spanish and one in Environmental science. These are the two classes I've been worried about, but both tests were vast improvements over previous tests, and I should now be sitting comfortably on a B for both classes! Assuming an A in comparative religions, a B in math, and, I dunno, an A or something in the seminar? There's no actual work, you just show up, which I've done all except one day... so anyway! That should send me out of my first term of university with... bear with me... a GPA of 3.4! :D

That's pleasing. I mean, could be better, but could be a LOT worse. Here was me worrying about having to get straight As next semester just to keep my scholarship....

Thirdly - stats was pretty chill today. It was an in-class lab that basically amounted to shuffling and drawing cards all day. So I partnered with Tom, a guy I'm on wave-smile-hi, sometimes chat after class basis with who's pretty cool. We got to talking while I was shuffling cards, and he casually tossed out "When I was in the Galapagos..."... Turns out there's a study abroad program there.

!!!

Study abroad! IN THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS!! AGHHHH I'm so excited!

I'm going. Seriously. I am going. I'll do bio the next two semesters and ecology next fall and I'm going to the Galapagos Islands, where I will do research and swim with the iguanas and poke the turtles and the albatrosses and I will learn tropical ecology and evolutionary biology and biodiversity preservation IN THE FREAKING GALAPAGOS ISLANDS.

Win. That's been top of my list of places to go since my birth as a biology nerd. MUST HAZ.

AND I found out that the break has been extended to include all of Wednesday, not just the afternoon, so I don't have to go to Spanish at 8 am the first day of a holiday. AND I just ate a DELICIOUS ramen stir fry. The only thing that could make me feel better is if I'd had more than six hours of sleep the past two nights in a row. And if Simon were here. And if I had a pony. And could fly.

But in the realm of reality, things are lookin' up.

college, yay
