Holy crap, what a day.
Our apartment has exploded. It has expelled an assload of crap and has been restuffed with new assloads of crap. (Better crap.) The crap that wasn't moved in or out has been shifted, sorted, and shuffled so that nothing but the entertainment center, the computer tables, and my bed are in the same spot as they were and not slated for being moved "eventually".
Mum and Ben have a new bed waiting in the wings. Their old one will be dismantled, probably tomorrow afternoon, while I'm off chillin' with mah fuckin' homies.
Simon is thoroughly traumatized. Upheaval. He knows it.
ALSO! I has a laptop. Toshiba Satellite. 320 GB hard drive, 4 GB ram, Intel Centrino Dual processor, webcam and mic built in, card slot, CD/DVD reading and writing, came bundled with Office 2007 for a slight penny more. Came with either Vista or Windows 7. Suppose I ought to have checked that out first, but honestly, it's all nuevo Windows to me, so it doesn't matter all that much. I'm not picky about my OS. I've run old Mac, new Mac, old PC, new PC, and Linux Ubuntu with no major difficulty. So suck it, purists.
I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, though, because we've been too freaking busy moving shit.
Oh, for those who knew I was leaning toward a netbook - well, I lied. Or rather, I thought they were nifty until I actually looked at one and compared it to a laptop side-by-side in person. That, and Office Depot only had about three options for netbooks and none of them were good. Besides, my dad was willing to spring for a full laptop, so why the fuck not?
For the moment, though, I'm still on the Ubuntu compy. The only thing occupying my lap at the moment is a purring fuzzy Catter who is badly in need of some luvinz.
And this beer is badly in need of some drinkinz.
