(no subject)
With the exception of the 2008 Christmas special, my (New Who) Dr Who viewing is now up to date and official.
Really, can't quite see what all the fuss is about. Perhaps that's because I was expecting it. That's the damn thing about getting a late start on something like this, you have expectations built up and certain things don't hit you the way they would have if you were going in brand new like everyone else. I mean, yeah, it's sad - poor Donna! And poor Doctor, too. After that big family reunion, everyone showing up to save the world together - which was AWESOME, by the way, so good to see everyone! - and then to end up all alone... ::hugs::
I was a little disappointed that Rose didn't really get to *do* much of anything. Mostly she stood around and said "I'm Rose Tyler!" Honestly I think she was more awesome in the episode before, (um, Turn Left,) when she turned into de facto Doctor when he was alternate-universe dead.
Mmmmm. This walnut bread goes *exceptionally* well with strawberry jam. And my peanut butter, too. The toast is very good today.
I was going to go on about how I thought Stolen Earth/Journey's End was exceptionally well put-together, and though I do kinda have to laugh at the continuous Return of the Daleks plot device. I suppose that's a Dr Who standby. Old foes do need to show up and make a nuisance once in a while. (Damn, nuisance is a difficult word to spell.) I was also gonna wax sappy about the touching moment of all the Doctor's Children of Time flying the Tardis together and how beautiful that would be. I was also gonna wonder why they couldn't have got Jenny back, the Doctor's Daugher. Wouldn't that have been a surprise. But I suppose you can only have so many pretty blond girls running around, and there was hardly enough for Rose to do as it was.
But now I'm gonna go watch a good ol' fashioned Torchwood, because y'know what? Much as I adore Doctor Who, I am really glad that this universe comes in two flavors.
I'm also REALLY glad it's Spring Break.
PS, I need some Dr Who icons. Anyone have good ones they wouldn't mind to share?
