PART 1 “So, where will you two live?” Akanishi mama asked when both of them came back after they dine out. As courtesy, Kazuya accompanied Jin to tell his parents that there weren’t any problem about the applications they gave to his lawyer for marriage license in Canada.
Kazuya knew that within a week, the notification of them being accepted to get married in Canada will be confirmed. It was easy because he was already a Canadian citizen, thanks all to his one and only grandmother Natsuki.
“We’ll live in my place, Kaa-san. It would be impractical if we bought a new house when my place is available. I’m living alone there anyway.” Kazuya answered politely.
His house was the Japanese traditional one. It was a two storey house which partitions within were created by
fusuma, sliding doors made from wood and paper, it has also a little touch of modernity. It was the house his parents only left to him. It was not big nor it was small, it was like as if it was made for a family. It has a comfortable and homely atmosphere with trees, plants, flowers and a little pond. It was also perfectly guarded, it has a bricked gate.
And not just that, it was only ten minute walk from Akanishi residence.
A sudden little doubt flashed in Akanishi mama’s beautiful face which made Kazuya felt guilty.
“I don’t want to sound skeptical but I still couldn’t believe this is happening so fast. I truly hope you are not making a mistake in rushing everything.” The old woman said with concern.
Kazuya saw Jin wrapped his arms around his mother. “Okaa-san, love moves in mysterious way ne? Don’t get all so worry, ok? We’re going to be happy and I’ll make sure that you and Tou-chan will be happy too when we start giving you grandchildren to spoil.” The older man assured which made Kazuya’s eyes went wide.
He nudged his fiancée. “Jin~ I’m a male, remember?” He forced a smile as he said it pointedly which made Akanishi mama giggled.
FUCK! Can a male get pregnant?! The younger man thought stupidly. I don’t have ovaries! For goodness sake!
Jin playfully pinched his cheeks sweetly. “Kazu, have you ever heard of child adoption?”
Kazuya blushed which made Jin with his mom chuckled.
OH GREAT! Now, I’m being bullied by both Akanishi. He sighed.
Kazuya really didn’t know if he’ll shrink in embarrassment because of the conversation or in guilt because of the lies they told Jin’s parents, knowing in the end that they will make them disappointed.
“Kame, care to beat me in a game of chess?” A voice interrupted them.
All heads turned to Akanishi papa who motioned Kazuya to move in the table where laid the glass chessboard.
Kazuya beamed widely as he gladly accepted the challenge. He stretched his arms and made sounds in his knuckles, getting ready for the game he really loves.
Most of the people who knew Kazuya knew that he was the master in chess when he was still young, well until now but he had stop playing it because he focused more on baseball and being a DJ.
Akanishi papa had always played chess with him but never did the old man won and never did he give up on playing chess with Kazuya. He was still hoping that one day, the younger man will make a wrong move and he’ll win.
“Tou-san, are you still hoping that Kazu will pity you and let you win?” Jin teased and poked his dad.
“Hey! Don’t be so arrogant,” Akanishi papa whined like a child. “You never even try playing chess with him. You’re just too scared to lose.”
“Correction,” Jin coolly chirped in. “You all think he’s unbeatable, but the thing is, I just don’t want you all to be disappointed if he lose to me.”
Kazuya snickered. “Dream on, Jin.” and ignored his soon-to-be-husband/lover for the rest of the game.

“Do you really have to walk me home?” Kazuya asked grimly at the older man in a low voice. He was a bit surprised when the other suddenly stood up with the intention of walking him home as he said his goodbye to Akanishi family.
“Duh, do you really have to ask that?” Jin rolled his eyes on him stupidly. “You’re my fiancée, remember? I’m not going to let you walk home alone!”
The younger man let out an exasperated sigh. “Geez, Jin. I’m not a girl. I’m a man. I can protect myself.”
“Yeah, right. I know you’re a man.” The older man said sarcastically. “But you act and look like a girl.”
Kazuya was about to hit the taller man when the other just walked passed him.
“Come on, you’re being slow. KA~ME~” Jin cheekily demanded.
ARGH! DAMN YOU! Kazuya cursed angrily as he followed the other quietly but with heavy steps, trying to cool himself down and not make a loud commotion in the neighborhood in the middle of the night.
When they both reached the bricked gate, Kazuya turned around only to see Jin staring back at him expectantly. The taller man showed no sign of leaving at all.
The younger man crossed his arms.
Jin just titled his head as if in confusion. “Aren’t you going to at least invite me for a cup of coffee?”
“We already had a coffee in your house,” He reminded Jin.
For the nth time that day, Jin rolled his eyeballs. “Well, I didn’t mean that literally. It is polite to ask me in and offer coffee or anything even if I’m full.” He said in a tone as if he was talking to a grade-schooler.
“Woah! Is that you, Jin? What school of ethics did you learn that? I wanna know~” Kazuya mockingly asked.
The older man put his hands on his pocket and looked at Kazuya with a bored but annoyed look.
“Fine!” Kazuya grunted. He turned around and walked towards to the main door. He slowly pulled the traditional old wooden slide door which made a crack sound as if it would break any minute. Kazuya almost burst out laughing when he saw how Jin winced to it.
He smiled widely, thinking if the older man would stay long in this kind of place, an antique traditional place, knowing that his every move would make a sound.
“Damn it, can’t you buy new smooth woods?” the older man asked irritably as if he gone deaf because of the sound.
“For what?” He asked innocently.
“For this damn door! You could have changed its wood. Look! It’s like as if it’s gonna break for using it in such a long time! Didn’t you learn to change woods every 5 years ‘coz it can easily get rotten in your high school?” Jin pointed out as he also pointed a finger at some certain part of the wooden sliding door.
“Thanks for the tip but why would I do that when it’s being useful?” Kazuya flashed a bright beam. “It’s my burglar alarm ne~ the cricking noise will absolutely scare the hell out of the thief. In just a single noise, people living here will be awake in an instant.”
“Bad guys don’t only use doors, Kazuya.” The older man pointed out again. “There are lots of windows which are also accessible.”
Kazuya petted Jin’s head. “Don’t worry, Jinny. They function in the same way.” He said as he walked inside the house with his slippers on.
Jin raised an eyebrow; he couldn’t believe what the other said so when he saw a window, he walked towards it and opened it. He winced at the sound it made.
“Holy shit! This house can be use for haunted house films! Have you tried that? You’ll definitely gonna make money for this!” Kazuya heard the other exclaimed hysterically.
He turned to Jin with sharp stare. “OI! Don’t insult my house! Once I got my capital, I’m going to fix this house and I’ll make sure you’re gonna drool over it in jealousy!”
“I’m not insulting it, ok? I just want to point out that there are remedies to these problems.” Jin explained as he walked over a small table and was about to kneel to sit when-
“Jin, wai-”
A loud wood crashing noise was heard.
“ITAI!” Jin screamed as he caressed his now injured head and foot that was hit by the wood from the floor. He had stepped foot on the wrong wood on the floor and it crashed down while the other part of it hit his head.
Kazuya covered his mouth, trying to suppress his laugh. “Oopps, sorry about that. I forgot that the supporter on the wood crashed down the other day, I forgot to fix it.”
Jin wanted to tell the younger man that it doesn’t need any repair at all, it needs a renovation. But he kept his mouth shut. He tried to stand up and to act cool as if it didn’t hurt at all, even if he could feel his right knee and foot screaming in pain.
“What do you want, coffee or coffee?” Kazuya offered cheerfully but the only answer he got was a piercing glare from the other. “Got it! I’ll go grab a beer! Just wait here.” He turned around and entered the kitchen.
Jin roamed his eyes around the place. Both he and Kazuya have known each other for a long time now but this was his second time to come in Kamenashi residence. The last time he went here was when Kazuya celebrated his 19th birthday, his little sister Mei who was also Kazuya’s best friend had forced him to go to the small party in this place. A month after that, he went to Africa for his work and at the same time study English in a short course.
Looking closely at the place, the house did have big potentials. It just need some major repairs but not to the extent to remove the aura of the old traditional house.
Jin turned to the left side and saw TV set at the corner. He stood up slowly caressing his hips and walked towards the TV and turned it on.
AHHH~ a sign of technology, at last! He exclaimed happily.
The younger man came with two beers in hand for each of them.
“After you finish this up, just go home already.” Kazuya said coldly.
The younger man handed the can to Jin as he took futon pads under the wooden table, and sat on it in cross legged.
He was sipping his beer when he noticed Jin didn’t budge, juts looking at the beer stupidly.
“Hello? What do you expect? Stay here ‘til morning?” Kazuya snapped with raised eyebrow.
Jin snickered. “Don’t you have common sense at all? We just got engaged, naturally, my parents would expect us to spend as much time as we can together. What do you think they’ll assume if I come home early like I just peed outside? Aren’t they going to be suspicious about it?”
Kazuya saw the point but it wasn’t still reasonable to stay in his house. “Then go somewhere else, go to the park or anywhere. I still have work early morning tomorrow.”
Jin looked really pissed on what he had said. “Excuse me, RUDE-san. If you think you’re being cute and cool on what you’re doing right now, you’re making a big mistake.”
Well, he’s not feeling too good, either. Kazuya’s face heated up, “Don’t worry, INSENSITIVE-san, I’m not being cute and cool to you! DAMN YOU!”
“Oh SHIT!” The older man muttered and combed his long hair. “This can’t be happening. It’s our first day together and you’re already acting like THAT! I can’t believe I actually agreed to this mess!” He added with frantic tone.
“Well, ME TOO!” Kazuya retorted back. “I couldn’t believe I propose to you, in the first place! I should have known this will never work!” He angrily stomped his feet and stood up.
The taller man stood up angrily too. “That’s because you’re TOO STUBBORN! Why do you always have to think of a retort back with what I always say? And you are always choosing the wrong words!”
“Listen to yourself!” The younger man pointed out. “It’s not as if you’re the most considerate gentleman!”
They both glared at each other with intense eyes and set jaws.
Jin was the first to give up. He knew the other was too stubborn to give in.
He palmed his forehead. “We could win an award for this.”
A small smile crept on Kazuya’s lips. “Right, the ‘Stubbornness’ award.”
They both looked at each other once again.
“All right.” Jin held out his right hand. “Truce?”
“Truce.” Kazuya took the hand. “Let’s be more business-like from now on.”
Jin smirked stupidly and nodded, “Yeah, right.”
