AHHHHHH....crunch

god, it's been awhile. i'll just update on this past weekend since i can't really remember much before it. matt, maneesh, rich and i decided to go to rochester friday night for the candid show, and since maneesh is from there, we got the ok to spend the night at his house. matt had to go to a wake in rochester that afternoon/evening, so he left early in his own car, and we were going to meet up later on for dinner. so it's me, maneesh and rich in maneesh's car (which is not actually his car but a dealer car that his dealership let him drive around while his actual car's in the shop), and then we go pick up erin, cuz her car is fucked up and she needed a ride to the show. we go to erin's house, pick her up, and stop at a gas station. i get ho-hos, erin gets cupcakes (we are both sitting in the back). we get back in the car, and head for the 290 to get on the thruway. we're merging into really heavy traffic, and then merging some more to get to 90E, and erin and i are eating our snacks, when all of a sudden the van in front of us slams on the brakes. we were way too close to it (cuz we were merging into the lane and there was so much traffic) to stop in time, so we all scream, and then boom, we hit the car, and erin's and my snacks go flying. not so much fun. turns out it was a four car pile up of sorts, which seemingly, according to everyone else, maneesh caused because he was the first to hit. this may be true, but there was virtually no damage between his car and the back of the van (he was only going maybe 15 mph), but the front of the van and the back of the car in front of it was all smashed up. how the hell did that happen? we were all very confused. the two cars in front were full of teenagers that were together, and then the van in the middle was two old people from pennsylvania. stupid old people. the old lady said she had her foot on the gas when maneesh hit her, so it propelled her forward, which may have happened, but makes no sense. anyway, it sucked a lot, we stood out in the snow for an hour while the cops came and were total jackasses to everyone except the old people. damn cops. so we finally get to rochester much later than expected, but that's ok. we met up with matt, had dinner downtown, then got to water street (amazing how maneesh had NO problems finding the place) just in time for candid. i think they put on a good show and hell, even rich and maneesh liked it.

we went to bed around 4am and got up way too early to head back. maneesh matt and i all took a nap as soon as we got home, and then we went to this indian dance festival thing, where a few people we knew were competing. UB actually won all the categories, beating out SUNY albany, cornell, and york university (they're from canada, they don't count). maneesh, priti, matt and i went to the olive garden afterwards, it was good times. we've been doing a lot of these foursomes lately (although to the untrained eye it would appear to be a double date), we went to the outback last weekend and damn do they have good martinis there. in fact, we've been obsessed with martinis lately and make ghetto ones at home (considering we don't have a shaker or glasses).

yesterday i picked up the my so-called life dvds and have been making matt watch them with me. sucker. man, they bring back memories. it's really sad that i can still quote from them all. you gotta love that jordan catalano ("he's always closing his eyes, like it hurts to look at things"). =)
