I initially made cooking and baking into a career rather than just a hobby when none of the jobs I applied for contacted me. Disheartening, right? Plus, I really prefered fiction writing over journalism and policy writing and there aren't any companies looking for "fresh graduate with experience in writing fiction". And I thought that I had more of a future in cooking and baking and that I'd get a job offers right out of school (which turned out to be right).
Wouldn't you know it, in the past week, I've been contacted thrice (two via email, one phone call) by three different companies that I've applied to a year and a half ago. Two were writing (copywriter) gigs; the phone call came from Accenture. I don't even remember applying for Accenture but I guess I did.
Oh the irony of it all. I have to admit it was a frickin' pleasure to turn them down. Thanks for waiting to call/write.
