those people in class

In nearly all my years of schooling, every class that I have been in has contained certain types/kinds of people of which I will term "locals", as in they're there every time. Some of these types are the following:

a) the gay guy

He's friendly to everyone, although he's almost always closer to the girls. He could be a "parlor gay", or he's just a guy who happens to like being with guys (in the biblical sense) more than he likes being with girls.
Of course, this type didn't really surface when I was in grade school--it became more prominent in high school and in college.
The gay guy also gets laid more often than the straight people.

b) the one guy/girl who everyone hates

He or she is pushy. He or she tries to be the teacher's pet. He or she likes to start his or her sentences with "Hindi naman sa nagyayabang, pero ganito kasi dapat...". He or she dispenses advice even when not asked. Which leads to him or her giving his or her opinion when we don't really give a rat's ass what he or she thinks. He or she is usually an a$$hole. He or she usually starts out as being liked by everyone, but then he or she is being such a kulang sa pansin whiny brat and WHAM! The next thing you know, everyone is scurrying far away from him or her.

c) the manyak

Usually a guy, he starts out the year seeming like a decent, upstanding citizen. Those little akbays and squeezes on the shoulder that he likes to give out freely may be a tad unsettling at first but hey, it's all good, we're all friends, there's no malice. Once you've relaxed your guard though, those squeezes on shoulder end up being unwanted caresses. Those akbays, with the hand swinging ever so low and casual over a girl's chest becomes too close for comfort. And the constant innuendos aren't funny anymore--they're just disgusting.

d) the silent people

Obvious na 'to.

e) the clown

Ditto.

f) the unexpected crush

In a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, this guy, physically speaking, is maybe a 5. There's a couple of other guys in class who are much better looking than he is. But once you've adjusted to Mr. Much Better Looking's dazzling looks, your eyes glaze over to Mr. Just 5 On the Scale. You see him paying attention in class and catch sight of how incredibly cute he is when his brows furrows from concentration. You notice his smile when he thanks you for lending him your pen--it's like you're the only one who can make him smile like that. He has a slight lisp, which instead of being a flaw, will all the more make the ol' heart flutter. Whenever you guys get to talk, he's always attentive, listening to what you have to say and laughing at all your quips. And then you guys a share a moment; it's small, it's silly, and it's darn cheesy, but those few seconds you guys shared mean more than you realize.
