Just a pile of dust

I just read God's Debris after having it recommended to me by a man of finite, but a lot of, wisdom. You should all read it. Especially Telen. And no, I will not use your "real" name, you will always be Telen. You can get it free online from the something's website. I think publisher, but I didn't care enough to check, might be author. I just read the intro and the whole idea of having a book with a strange world view, describing God in am unheard of yet somehow flawed manner seems like a great idea. (I also like that it's free) So, I'm going to take you up on this proposition especially since this might be a long weekend. If I don't get it done this weekend, don't expect to hear from me about it untill my midterms are over. (Just to warn ya.)

Though, I must insist that if I'm going to read a book that might shatter my world view, then would you please read a book of my own choosing that you can get free on the internet as well? Lookin' forward to hearing from you.

I sincerely doubt God's Debris will shatter your world view, but perhaps wrinkle or at least nag in an amusing and endearing way :) But I'd be happy to read any book of your choosing, especially one I can get free over the internet, provided it isn't by Nietzsche. I don't know if my email is up on this lj anywhere, but you, and any of my other adoring fans, can email me at akopczy at the old luc.edu

Ok, I read it and liked it and now I feel compelled to return the favor. Even though I think the overall metaphysical world view is flawed (since it would be impossible for God to commit suicide), it had a number of really mind provoking arguments and a lot of it does work out logically. A good chunk of it can be taken as a modern day Socrates, which makes it a little ironic that the old man in the story knows all when Socrates states that he knows nothing. If you want me to comment on a specific part of it, feel free to ask. I just don't want to bore you with an exhaustive account of all my various opinions on each section ( ... )
