rain rain rain
Well, I've been getting my first taste of the Seattle rain.
Got soaked at Bumbershoot and was very disappointed because Ani didn't
perform- doctor's orders I guess after checking out the Righteous Babe
site. Everything is swell though. Work has been alright, I'm
getting to know the kids a lot more- all three of them are very
special. I like it, so far it hasn't been too stressful and I like that
I get paid well.
I've started to look into getting a car and should be getting one within the month. This is exciting but kinda scary at the same time- I have really enjoyed life without one more than I ever expected to. I've enjoyed walking all over the place and learning the bus system and I don't miss paying for gas and repairs and sitting in traffic and being on the road with bad drivers. I'm in better shape now sicne I haven't had a car. It's been very good to me and the more I think about it the more I think how sad it is that our society is so reliant on cars- not to sound like a hippie or anything- but they seem to make people angrier. Around here it seems like there's at least one fatal accident every day- going home from work last night we passed one and I couldn't help but think that a lot of the children I've worked with had been just like anyone else until a car accident. People don't realize what a risk it can be getting behind the wheel. Anyhow, I'm starting to look for one but I hope to keep up with my walking and bus riding for things other than work once I have one. The bus is cheaper these days when compared to how much you pay in gas.
