Ashland, part one.

Because I'm still sick and only feel like blogging about day one right now ;3;

At around 6:45 am on a chilly Friday morning, a group of about forty young girls bursting with excitement piled onto a large tour bus with their cases of luggage,flannel blankets, and beating hearts, squeezing next to their friends and waiting for the adventure to begin. It took us about seven hours to drive from San Jose to Ashland, Oregon. I sat next to Haley, across from Paige and Meaghen, and in front of Laura Lang and Georgie so it was all-around a good group to sit with/near to. We watched Moulin Rouge!, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog [which, in fact, Haley and I did indeed sing along to], and Superstar which was just WEIRD. My brain broke while watching it. We stopped in Red Bluff to eat, which is technically called a town but is really just a truck stop near Chico. We went on a hunt for gelatin-free Skittles and nourishment, and we were pretty successful.

Several hours afterward, we arrived in the state of Oregon. It was very exciting as it was the first time I had ever been in Oregon. Ashland is gorgeous, with trees and hills everywhere. It’s filled with little shops and there’s a very pretty creek surrounded by blackberry bushes that we visited and Paige and Haley actually went into. We stayed in a small motel about three blocks away from the theatres, and I stayed in the room with Haley, Paige, and Meaghen which was… very interesting. We went to a bakery and bought two baguettes and had a swordfight with them, and we entertained ourselves by being sacrilegious and reading the Bible in scary preacher voices and saying things like, “and the moral of this story is don’t pull out, or God will smite you”. We spent most of the day mostly wandering around and checking out the shops, and then at around seven in the evening we went to go see Much Ado About Nothing in the outdoor theatre which was very nice. It was also very cold, and Haley and I shared a comforter while sipping on warm drinks. At around eleven o’clock, we walked back to the motel and saw some girl poledancing with a lamppost? It was weird. XD We ended up going to bed at around two in the morning, and thus ended our first day.
