Title: Aubade
Fandom: Arashi
Pairing: ohmiya

Notes: Aubade. I wrote this really quickly, so it's rough. But I just wanted to write something short and I'm a sucker for morning cuddles. :x

Nino woke up to something soft.

It was a moment just before dawn, the light still dim but somehow too bright for his eyes. There was the warmth of Ohno's arms around him and small puffs of hot breath against his cheek, all so comfortable and unmoving in the warm bedroom. The sheets smelled musty, of sweat and sex, when Nino pressed his face into his pillow, trying to block the sunrise out of his eyes.

It was unfair, he thought. He never wanted to sleep, not when Ohno was there. He wanted the moments to stretch infinitely long. He wanted his body not to feel tired when Ohno was there. Life moved too fast when he was asleep, making him lose countless moments with Ohno.

Nino closed his eyes and pretended it wasn't morning yet. But he couldn't fall asleep anymore. He was already too awake and Ohno was pressed close, distracting. Nino felt the coolness of the sheets when he moved his hand over them, the warmth spreading from Ohno's body and into him and the smooth slide of skin against skin.

Ohno stirred. His hand slid over Nino's stomach, hesitant and slow from sleep, making sure that Nino was there. Ohno always checked, like he thought that the dawn would dissolve him into fairy dust... or just that Nino would leave during the night, somehow suddenly deciding this wasn't what he wanted anymore. Stupid things that Ohno wouldn't even consider when he was awake.

"I dreamt that I was kissing you," Ohno muttered against Nino's neck, lips leaving wet trails on his skin.

Nino shivered.

"You did," Nino answered just as softly. The light of his digital clock looked harsh in the room, where the edges were still blurred with sleep and darkness and the colours were still mixing together, sliding into shades of dull blue. It was getting brighter. "You did," Nino repeated. "Just few hours ago." They had gotten only three hours of sleep and Nino should have felt it as a heavy feeling in his limbs, as grains of sand under his eyelids, but he didn't.

"I dream about kissing you all the time," Ohno said, slowly opening his eyes to look at Nino. "It doesn't matter if I have been doing it only moments before." He leaned closer, his sleep heavy eyes regarding Nino, going cross-eyed from trying to keep eye contact. Then he pressed his lips lightly against Nino's. It was quick and there was only a hint of pressure, making it only a ghost of the kisses they had shared during the night. It was a morning kiss, a light greeting to the dawn, and Nino didn't want it.

"It's not morning yet. It isn't," he told Ohno, reaching out to grab Ohno's head, digging his fingers into his hair. He pulled Ohno back down into another kiss, this one heavy and purposeful and needing in the way that belonged to the darkness and night time, when it was easier to confess these things.

Nino wished he would dream about kissing Ohno. Maybe sleeping wouldn't feel like such a waste of time then.

The alarm went off, piercing the warm silence with a buzzing sound, obnoxious and loud. Nino swatted it away, into silence.

"That was the alarm," Ohno said.

"Oh-chan, you're hearing things," Nino told him, sliding his hands over Ohno's ears, covering them with his palms.

Ohno chuckled, trailing his thumb over Nino's lips. It should have been an embarrassing gesture, something to joke about to make Ohno pout, but Ohno was so close, inside the circle of his arms, and the pressure against his lips made Nino feel another surge of warmth travel along his body. "We have to go to work," Ohno said.

"Not until morning. Which it isn't yet," Nino said. His fingers felt warm against Ohno's sides.

"Your alarm went off," Ohno said, placing a small kiss on the corner of Nino's mouth.

"It wasn't my alarm. It was... really big flies. Nocturnal ones."

"It's light outside."

"Streetlights. You're just an idiot who doesn't know the difference." Nino trailed his hand over Ohno's stomach, liking the way he shivered and pressed closer to him.

"If we're late, Jun will glare at us."

Nino groaned. He was wide awake now, his need for Ohno spreading quickly through him, just as bright and warm as the sunlight outside. The soft sleepiness was lost now and he wanted it back. It was all Ohno's fault. "Why are you so determined to be responsible?"

Ohno watched him, eyes bright in the morning light. It was filtering through the window, stronger and stronger. "We agreed," was all he said.

They had. They had agreed that this, these moments between them, whatever they chose to call them, wouldn't affect Arashi. Ever. Even being late felt like a betrayal, somehow. Nino could feel the outside world now, seeping into the room with the sunlight, and he didn't like it at all. He sighed against Ohno's skin, keeping his eyes closed just a little longer, stalling.

Ohno grunted. He was sitting up on the bed and moving away from Nino, and it was already feeling colder, much colder than just moments ago.

It was morning.
