Arashi - drabble - Nino #02-04

Jun 04, 2007 22:39

Yes. Well... Haha, Nino month continues and already I had to do a triple-drabble post. D: I feel bad because THERE IS NO POINT in any of these ficlets. NO PLOT, and not even PORN. *woe*

You know, if you haven't already, I really recommend that you go and look at karmade's awesome Nino drawings. She's an inspiration. (Good luck on your exams!)

Title: Boredom Kills
Fandom: Arashi Nino
Pairing: ohmiya?
Summary: Friends are essential for your wellbeing.

2. Boredom kills

When he’s bored he thinks up clever things to say on TV. He never uses any of them, though. He always gets swept up in the moment or then he feels too limited by the script or he’s just too tired to care much, letting Jun or Sho or Aiba do most of the talking.

When he’s bored he makes up situations in his head. It’s not exactly daydreaming - he refuses to call it that. It’s just… planning. Maybe someday he really needs to know what to say to Nomura Tetsuya or Angelina Jolie. You never know.

Then there are the times when he’s too bored to think. When he’s too bored to dig up his handheld and play games. When he’s too bored to do anything else than lie around and stare at the ceiling. When that happens, he’s extremely grateful to Ohno, who seems to sense his moods in a way that is a little bit like magic. If they are together, Ohno moves close to him, lets him lean against him or just stays near, giving him something to think about, something to feel. Sometimes, even when he’s alone, Ohno can suddenly call him, managing to bring him out of his tedium.

“Boredom kills,” Ohno says in the phone, like it explains everything.

”Well, thanks for keeping me alive, then,” Nino answers.

Title: Summer
Fandom: Arashi Nino
Pairing: sakumiya. if you squint. XD;
Summary: It's too hot for anything.

3. Summer

It’s too hot to move. A five minute break from recording and away from the air-conditioned studio and his shirt is already sticking to his back. The air is heavy and moist and it feels hard to breathe. He tries to concentrate on the wind, closing his eyes, trying to imagine winter.

Nothing helps.

The road beneath him is glimmering, like a mirage far below his feet. In days like these, it’s hard to work. It’s hard to concentrate on anything. He keeps dreaming of coolness, of the night, of thunderstorms.

Cool fingers touch his neck and bring him out of his haze. He leans slightly to the touch before moving and giving room for Sho to stand beside him.

“It’s hard to breathe inside, it’s hard to breathe outside,” he mutters and squints his eyes against the sun.

Sho doesn’t say anything, just offers a water bottle to him. He accepts, grateful, and they spend their break standing there, side by side, and not talking.

Title: Johnny's Jimusho
Fandom: Arashi Nino
Pairing: none; gen.
Summary: He might whine and bitch but we know he loves it. :P

4. Johnny’s Jimusho

Glimmering empire of entertainment, Nino thinks and snorts. Yeah, right.

The room smells of old sweat and prepubescent boys. It’s cluttered and dusty, like any rehearsal room of any shabby dance studio. Nino can’t wait to get out of there and take a shower and just go home. He despises the star struck expressions on the faces of the smallest Juniors, despises the atmosphere of anticipation and their naïve belief in the promises they are being told.

He was once one of those kids and that is what annoys him even more.

It’s like all of the things he hates about Johnny’s have suddenly materialized in this one dance studio. He wants to just turn around and walk out of there. He can’t. As much as he can’t stand little kids, he can’t just skip a rehearsal.

Nino sees a small group of kids gathered around a half-closed door, peering into the room. He can hear familiar rhythms coming through there and knows instantly who the kids are watching.

This is what angers him the most. Because as much as the dreams of these kids could be crushed in few years from now, some of them will get everything they wanted. Or didn’t want.

He stands behind the kids, watching how Ohno dances, completely concentrating on the choreography, completely in his own world.

Some of these kids in the doorway will get as good as Ohno. And even if it looks like it, it will not be glamorous or easy or even that much fun. It’s just… These kids look up to Ohno because he makes it look so effortless. He looks up to Ohno because of that. And because he knows how much work it has required from him.

Mostly he just feels sorry for these kids. They are new: they don’t know about the work. Not yet.

Then again... Hasn’t it been worth it?

“Hey, Oh-chan! Nice moves!”
