I feel guilty that I use deviantart like every day and then my livejournal is unloved. Oh well, whatever!! I'm planning to do some posts about drawings on dA that I love, analysing them and drawing over them and stuff, should be fun! I wish I had a dA subscription so I could do features (I would do it like every week or more often) but if all I want it for is the ability to post pictures in my journals, it's not really worth the whatever $/month rate that it costs.
I'm totally cheating here and hotlinking these landscape drawings to my deviantart, heh heh heh...
I haven't directly posted any of these on my lj, as far as I can remember, but correct me if I'm wrong!
That last one is Vancouver, drawn for a Canadian friend who featured me in her dA journal. That's right, I have a friend. From Canada. How rad.
On the latest DW episodes (no spoilers): I am totally attached to 11 now, even if he looks like a spade. Sure, sure, we all saw the dramatic conclusion to the 'pandorica opens' episode from a mile away, but that's better than RTD's random 'oh hey the master is everyone LOL' ending which tbh made all DW fans just laugh for ages. Seriously, DW is lacking in drama, I mean real emotional scenes. Bad Wolf Bay is the best dramatic scene there has ever been in DW and we need more of that style. Also Rory and Amy are flipping adorable and I totally ship them.
On movies: I downloaded the trilogy of Back to the Future and aaaaahhahahah I laughed so much, I watched the first two and they are very clever, it's honestly like an American doctor who. It's kind of sad that I never saw them before now, my family aren't avid sci fi fans so anything like that, even a classic, is kind of ignored. But I'm glad I downloaded them, I really enjoyed the first one. They're formulaic but fun.
Also Toy Story 3 comes out this week and despite my ignorance about the fact that there wasn't ALREADY a Toy Story 3 I am excited. This is mainly due to the 100% rating on rotten tomatoes (whose ratings are law for me: below 60%, I won't watch it. Above 80%, I try to watch it.) It's really funny how I wasn't at all interested until I heard that it's basically the BEST MOVIE EVER or something. The disappointing part of this little tale is that it doesn't come out in Australia until Thursday, and even then it's only in Rockingham. Which is like... an hour or two's drive from Perth. So that's not really an option. My parents and I are waiting impatiently, meanwhile I must ignore all reviews on dA or my RSS feeds, the equivalent of covering my ears and yelling LALALALALALA like guybrush in monkey island 3. God I loved that scene.
I always seem to get off track (like in the sentence above) so I think I'll end this entry now. If you read all of that, you are awesome.
Oh also I forgot to mention that I am now officially done with exams (and have been since last Friday). So yaaaay!! Holidays!
Lastly, I got a new icon for my dA account - shamelessly traced over hinabn art itself.
I love this little guy. His name is Ca$h Money. He's a ladies man.
