New Year's Eve, Future Costume Plans, and General Updates
My first week of 2012 has been pretty productive. I've gotten back into yoga again, and I've gotten back into blogging for the Knoxville law firm again. I've also started looking for new jobs and plan to meet with my supervisor tomorrow (or later this week) to discuss my moving on and possibly finding another job within Equifax.
Of course, that comes off of two horrible days at work where my boss (I have two bosses and an overall supervisor) was horrible and bitchy. BUT I'm still making my numbers and doing well, and that's really all I care about.
Friday night, I had an allergic reaction to... something. I didn't eat anything odd or new, and I didn't use any different skin or hair product, but I started breaking out around 6pm and it got progressively worse until I found some Benadryl around midnight. I was broken out from head to toe in hives--half my face was broken out, and my lip was swollen. I was able to get some sleep but when I woke up on Saturday, the rash was still there. So I spent two hours of my New Year's Eve morning at the ER. They put me on a steroid and told me to take Benadryl, and I got the name of an allergist in town, but that was scary. I'm a lot better now, but I need to go to a doctor and see if he thinks I should do allergy testing. This is the 2nd time I've broken out like this in the past 6 months, I've never been allergic to anything before, and this most recent breakout was the worst yet (my tongue started to get numb and my throat started to swell while I was at the ER), so I feel like allergy testing would be worth it to avoid another ER trip. :\
New Year's Eve night was a blast, though. Bill and I went to Jimmy and Brandi's house for food, fireworks, and movies. They had a bunch of people over, and we all brought food to grill and snacks to share; it was one of my best New Year's Eves ever.
I'm trying to put together a list of costumes for this year, but I'm not really excited about anything new or recent. I want to fix/finish/redo Black Gold Saw, especially now that the Black Rock Shooter anime is going to come out, I want to finish Menace, and I think I'd like to repair or make a new Catwoman catsuit. My big project, though, is going to be the Breakfast at Tiffany's gown. I've been wanting to make that for so long, and I think that this year would be a good year to do it.
Some people back home have talked about putting together new SW costumes, but that'll be in the planning stages for me this year. I think I want to do a Biker Scout, especially since Ryan made me some of the pieces for Christmas one year, and I just won't have the money to complete one this year. My goal for the TB will probably be to find the pieces I have, plan and budget out the project, maybe buy some base pieces, and start talking to TBs in Midsouth about getting armor.
