OOC: My new favorite Christmas song
Click to viewI didn't think it was possible anymore for a Christmas song to make me cry, but this one did. This is pretty much exactly how I feel about the season, almost word for word. With the obvious exception of not having an infant to get sentimental over. But if I did.. yeah. This is exactly what I would want to tell them about Christmas and what it really means.
Tim Minchin is all kinds of awesome. Google him sometime if you aren't already a fan. Apparently this song caused some controversy. It got put on a holiday album to raise money for the Salvation Army in Australia. They then issued a statement saying that they did not endorse the views expressed in the song. Minchin has since stated that if anyone wants to buy the single directly from his site he will give all of -that- money away to a less proselytizing charity. =\
