I would like to introduce you to my best friend... THE BLENDING STICK!
I actualy didn't use it that much for this drawing but i usualy do. I couldnt find a pic of it on google but you can find it at any art store. another trick would be to use toilet paper or paper towel. they work just as well.
also, when you use a grid it makes everything so much easier. I used the grid option on photoshop and it made teh grid for me, then i used the same measurements for the grid I made on paper. you look at each square and you can see exactly how that line moves within the square. You can also compare your lines to other areas of the picture. like what lines up with what. When you use the grid you know if whatever youre drawing is at teh top of the square, bottom, center, left, right, ect...

I can give you a few tips I learned if you wanna draw something like a person...

So would a photocopy/emailed image of the finished product. :P
My main question is: how do you shade so well? I can never do it properly, for material or otherwise.
