Yeah I have been collecting for many years now. I started with Trading cards then shitajiki and cels.
I remembered I had someone asking Q's about Mecca boards so I thought I would pass on the info. All the galleries for shitajiki that used to be around as a refrence are no longer working so you won't find very much info online untill the shitajiki gallery group gets back up online and ruinning (I have not heard they are coming back one way or the other) But you might file this info away in your search so you have it availible.
The info I have and remember from the Mecca shitajiki is......
* Small edition sizes Example:(horizontal board with inners & outers forming a "V") was only a 300 released edition size.
* The other Mecca boards I want to say I remember edition sizes being 500, 1000, and 3000 only. But I can't tell you what board is what any longer. I just don't remember. A few boards don't have the codes one them that you find or many others.
The pencilboard.net and pencilboard.org is down and I know they had a lot of the info specifics for these boards. This info was among that info So did the predecessor for those sites but they are all defunct now. O_0
* This artist/fan actually asked Naoko if she could do some items for her released series and Naoko gave her consent and from what I have heard, had translated and had read to me through the years is the only artist to be allowed to do this for Sailor Moon. These boards were made with exclusive permission from Naoko for a special release in a special store setting. This fan artist also got permission to make and sell very specific items/ merchandise (From what I used to own/ still own in my personal collection) the following items were for sure items she made for release as well ...
Other items that Mecca made...... * several (at least 4 that I know of) silk draw string pouches. * 2 zippered bags * Several Phone cards. * 2 large oversized posters * And a couple Pillows.
You are welcome back anytime for anything hon. Please do stop by from time to time. If you need any help with things I can only try. ^_~
Aww, yeah, I remember the old pencilboard.org (or was it .net?). It's sad they are gone - it was a useful site. I've often considered making my own, but I wouldn't have the first clue how to go about it. Oh well~
Thanks for all the info! I couldn't find *anything* on the Mecca boards anywhere else. I did find some for sale, and I bought them, but am slightly concerned one may be fake. 9_9; Are there any others besides the ones you have? Because it doesn't look like any of the ones in your picture. D:
Off the top of my head the only additional one not pictured that I can think of is the Chibi Usa looking like she is running for congress. Lots of reds and whites in the board and such. Do you have pics of the ones you are worried about..?
Ack, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. If there's one that has Chibi Usa looking like she is running for congress on it, then all is well, because that's what I bought, lol. Phew. XD
Yeppers. That is a real one. I sold mine to get money for the move to florida a few years ago and I have missed it. But I have not found another like it on e-bay since. Any other questions let me know!
Hey there! Can you do me a favor since you have this board. Can you flip it over and look at the bottom of the board. Near the copyright info there should be a box if I remember correctly with #'s inside. Can you tell me what you see..??
