another fuse

the details perspire in the furnace love
igniting the subtle variations once percieved
now as the ashes drift away from me
my vision returns from towers high above

a black clothed shadow once was hung
distorting the faith of beauty that I knew
gone astray and hidden from every view
apparent to the one whose song was sung

the cruel venom raced through every vein
poisoning the purest white skin turning black
forever humbled from the heart attack
although I return will not be quite the same

a fatal rope strung from the churches door
tied to the pew where as a child I'd pray
now as a Mother I kneel there everyday
my hands are reaching for the Lord
