Ghostbusters!

I am dragging my kids to see this on Friday. Hopefully the bribe of lunch at a place they like to eat where I never take them will work....

It's so strange to know that kids these days know nothing about such awesome things like Ghostbusters or the Turtles.
I just watched australian X-Factor in which one of the contestants is 14 years old and she should sing a song from the movie "Grease" and had no idea what that even was. She first thought her mentor meant she should sing a song from "Greece". *lol*

*cough* I know nothing about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, except the name. I think of something totally different when you say "turtles" :D

/o\ Grease is a pretty common musical for high schools to do around here, so at least the kids around here know it. My kids don't, but kids in general do. :D

You know what I meant... Turtles was only one example. *gg*

If the "turtle" joke was an innuendo I don't get it. *gg*

Yeah, I do know. It's just that I'm enough older than a lot of people in fandom who get the same references I do, but have their own stuff I was too old for. (DId that make sense?)

Nope! It's a reference to the books my username comes from, actually :D The Liaden Universe books.

Tbh I don't know. Maybe you have but if so I've forgotten. Which isn't a surprise because I don't know the books. And then I often forget these kinds of things. *drop*

I keep seeing whispers of people wanting a female version of Ghostbusters. *That* would be awesome. Otherwise, why remake a perfectly good movie?

That's something I asked myself a couple of times in the last years. It feels like they're doing one remake after another.

I guess there's a certain appeal to it when you have better technology. I love the Ghostbusters movies but compared with the things you can do today the special effects are very 80's. Would love to see who they take for Janine's role.

:D :D DD1 was just asking me why everything was a remake.

I don't always think better special effects = better. I was so impressed with Merlin in the first season when they were using tin cans and sticks for props. (I exaggerate, but you get my meaning.) The acting was EVERYTHING.

I guess we're old fashioned with this opinion:-)
