Slow week

Jan 15, 2014 10:40

I am moving through molasses this week. Trying to be compassionate with myself and not crack the whip too hard.  My focus is all over the place though. I need to get back to my lists.

Today's plan is make a platypus quilt square for a nametag, work on quilt square for dance group, and .... vagina quilt? I wish I could describe what I am rolling ( Read more... )

to do, tv

What about "Almost Human"? You liked that.
I wasn't a huge shipper of "Atlantis" but it was fun to watch and all Merlin fans I know liked it as well. Storywise it's a little ridiculous sometimes and you just have to accept the laws in this particular universe but it was entertaining.

I am still loving Almost Human. I think I wasn't clear. I want an old show that is done that I can just marathon:D

I'm not motivated enough to watch Atlantis. And I don't want to even watch anything else the J's touch, to be honest. Maybe I should try watching Dr Who again...

Even more than a new show/fandom I crave a place (≠ Tumblr) to talk/fangirl about fannish stuff. LJ used to be that place, due to it turning into a massive cyber graveyard it no longer is, though. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a solution to that problem since nowadays everyone's on Tumblr. Stupid thing is: I don't know everyone (and as mentioned before, I don't get Tumblr or how to 'talk' to people over there). So these days any fannish squee on my end is reduced to maybe posting a cautious (b/c SPOILERS for those who haven't watched an ep yet) tweet, when most of the time it's just me thinking to myself 'this was a great episode'. \0/woohoo\0/
Ah well, pointless whining is pointless, sorry. :P

Have fun quilting all the things today! ♥

No!!! Whining is always welcome on my LJ ... well, as long as that's not all you do, which you hardly ever do!

I so totally hear you on this. I want to squee about Eureka. I have found someone, but she is on Tumblr and even she has said, "Gee, tumblr is really bad at making conversation possible" (or something along those lines). I can't talk to people on Tumblr. It's very frustrating. I wish I could talk to her on Twitter at least.

What are you watching that you want to squee about? Feel free to leave squee in any of my posts, but I don't watch TW.

Hee. Thanks! I think it's going to be a pretty mellow quilting day, but we'll see. It's after noon and I haven't yet made it downstairs. I'm almost ready. Just have to print something out and I can get started! <3 <3

Wow... if you choose DW you'll really have to watch quite a bit.

I'm not sure if that's your humor or if you even ship het pairings but I love, love, love the british show "Miranda" which is a comedy show. Then there's also the british "Being Human" which is supernatural but even more about staying human if you're clearly not. This show gave me enough shipper potential for every kind of pairing. I just loved it - especially season 1 and especially the british original (not a huge fan of the american version though).

I bet I have some more recs if you give me a hint in which direction it should go.

LOL. Yeah. Not sure I can watch it for free though. I need to figure that out. I'm just going back to Eureka instead.

I tried Being Human and just didn't get very far with it:(

No worries. It seems I can watch Eureka endlessly :D

There really isn't much new stuff worth watching these days
Did you watch Orphan Black because that was amazing!!!!

Have been trying to watch Dracula (mainly because Katie was in it, but also its pretty costumes and sets), but its losing me, way to convoluted and most of the characters are nutcases
I quite liked The Last Tango in Helifax (BBC) about an elderly couple who reunite and the affects it has on their families. Its got some great actors.
I kept watching Haven - god knows why, but the 3 leads are good - and good-looking (hmmm, Nathan!!!)
Was going to try Death comes to Pemberley
but thats about it!

I'm actually totally open to old shows that are completely finished, to be honest.

Did not watch Orphan Black. Not sure I can handle it:(

Last Tango in Helifax? Never heard of it. Sounds like it could be interesting.

Thanks for the recs!

Its pretty intense but well worth it

Last Tango is what I would call sweet, - not saccharine or diabetically sweet, but well-written and sweet, its just finished its 2nd season and is getting a 3rd apparently
