Shattered
I am here, but kind of shattered. I am going to try to get back to the meta post about romance vs gen. I've had a few more disjointed thoughts about the issue.
Here, have a couple recs instead. These actually might be an interesting addition to the question about gen vs romance.
bellobelle has a lovely short reincarnation fic, Avalon.
ladyofmisrule podficced Tirra Lirra. This is a story focusing on Freya and The Lady of Shallot. Text here.
Ok, I'm going to see if I can pull myself together and get some cleaning done and maybe force feed the kids.
ETA: Now I'm thinking about fics I wrote and whether they are gen or not, specifically Mordred's Blood. I have it listed as M/M on AO3, but the focus for me is not on Arthur/Merlin even though they are together in this fic. It's about Mordred's relationship to Arthur and Merlin (separately, this was before I OT3'd them:)). It's also one of the most emotionally taxing stories I've written and the ending is awful (Arthur dies). But, if gen stories are not pairing focused, then I'd say this is a gen story. See why I'm confused?:D
