Happy Valentine's Day!
First, I bring you an adorable Valentine from

fyalexandervlahos posted some pictures of Alex from the NTA's red carpet thingee that were on FB.
I got my first really bad review on ff.net. My first thought was, holy fuck, that's exactly how I feel about everything I write. My second thought was, man, is this the first time you've read fanfic? LOL ETA: review was for Merlin's Day Off (link goes to AO3)which I don't think was one of my best stories, but I had fun with it.

Okay, here's what you do:
Answer these questions:
What is the main problem? (Or where do they start and where do they end?)
Why is it a problem/how does it affect the characters?
What is the resolution?
How does it solve the problem/how does it affect the characters?
What are the steps in this resolution?
A.
B.
C.
Do these steps cause any more problems? If so what? How are those problems
resolved?
Create a timeline from the answers, then write your story.
And make sure you ask yourself: "Would this character actually do this?" Like
calling a dragon in front of a loyal knight.
Hope you read through. Wouldn't blame you if you didn't.
Finally, I want to know what you've gained, personally, from fandom. I've heard from a few people around about different things they've gained. I love hearing these things. I know I'm learning to turn off my inner editor which I feel has had a positive effect on my quilting, but I've also learned how to make icons, I've made one screencap, I made a video, I started podficcing and I've learned a little about editing audio files. And of course, the friendships I've made through fandom have been AMAZING.
