My family is a circus
So, some of you know that I come from a kind of big family. I'm in NYC visiting my brother, who lives in Brooklyn, and my sister, who lives in Queens. My brother has two girls (ages four and two). Sister is 26 and not married. My parents are visiting too, so, when we all get together, it's kind of a big group. Everyone gets along and it's all good and fun, but exhausting too. My sister commented that the last time we'd all eaten dim sum together (parents + four kids) was when when were in San Francisco 13 years ago. I sent a message to my sister in Seattle that she needed to hop on a plane and come join us for dim sum. Turns out we were all together a mere 3 years ago. :D
So, today, we split up and my mom and SIL took the kids to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall (report was that it was fantastic and everything went well.) DH and I went to a woodworking shop this morning for a while and then we went to Manhattan for lunch at some "fancy" restaurant that had delicious food, but was too loud and dark.
After lunch we went to The Meadow where I met up with archaeologist_d and we shopped for salt, bitters, and chocolate. Or, dh and I shopped. I didn't take so long, so archaeologist_d and I hung out outside and chatted. My sister ran to some bakery for cupcakes, we chatted, dh shopped. Sister returned and said she was going to pull dh out of the store:) She said, "I didn't realize someone could shop for an hour and a half for salt in a store the size of my closet." LOL!!!
It was great meeting arch_d. I look forward to meeting her again. Next time for quilting maybe!
We are all hanging at my brother's million dollar apartment now. Tomorrow will be another adventure. Hope you are all doing well.
Also, I had an idea for a science fiction story on the train. I saw a random guy looking at his cell phone. He appeared to be Indian and was thumbing through pictures of men on the beach on his phone. I got the idea of having a story about a guy who is "anyman" or "anonymous" and he is the guy who all that spam about viagra is targeted at. I don't know. Maybe I'm delirious. Probably.
