Tension is very important in sewing, especially quilting. I usually lower the tension in the bobbin and top a lot.

I don't know what the issue is. I haven't even tried to figure it out. I wonder if I just need to put a new bobbin in. It's been acting up for a while, but I haven't done anything (much) since it started acting up.

Is the needle seated properly? Also sometimes it is the bobbin or maybe the bobbin casing?

I think i've changed the needle twice. I've rethreaded the machine.

I have not cleaned the lint out. I need to get some compressed air and spray it. The machine should not be that dirty though.

I have not changed the bobbin in any way. That's my next move.

Yeah, sounds like the bobbin casing. Maybe it needs to go to the shop for maintenance?

I am hoping that somehow I messed up and used the wrong bobbin (I have two different plastic bobbins).

I really hope it's not the bobbin casing. It was just serviced last fall. I will have to go down and see what I can do now. You've given me some motivation!
