Thanks so much! I am so glad I decided not to present this as a dream.

:) I didn't even know it was a hymn until I looked it up. I know it from Sacred Harp singing! It's a wonderful song.

Yeah, well, the other factor was that I wanted to make it a reality for me too:) I have great sympathy for Merlin, as you know:)

It is definitely a goodie:D I never what are church hymns vs just Sacred Harp tunes.

I have not asked dh (who grew up Methodist) which are hymns that he knows. I'm sure there are others too.

Oh, really? The hymn version I found is the same melody. I wonder if you are having a hard time hearing the melody because of all the other parts.
