Tell the universe

This post is brought to you by the letters A, C and the number 9.

My mom is having surgery for her cancer this morning. Here is what she wrote:

i don't need books or flowers or fruits or magazines....what i would like is for each of you to do a good deed in my name this week..i'd like to think that my cancer could have a positive effect in this world

If you feel moved to do a good deed on her behalf, I would love that.  You don't have to tell me.  Just go out there and spread positive energy.

So, today I'll be looking for distractions.  We expect everything to be fine, but it's still scary.  I have the morning pretty well filled up with a grocery store run, allergy shot (hopefully), and date with a friend.  No plans for the afternoon.  Cooking, most likely.  And fretting about the half inch of snow we'll be getting, wondering if it will muck up school etc.

Also, better living through chemistry going on today.  I'm wondering if having given up Coke will make my cramps better.  We'll see.  It seems like it might be better.

ETA: She's out of surgery and everything looks good!
