Need a new mantra

Jul 06, 2011 16:53

I realize I'm sort of spammy lately.  Maybe this is the fault of twitter.  Anyhow, I'm lying here feeling like a failure because I have not cooked any new food today (nevermind the bonanza I made yesterday) and that I didn't actually sew anything (nevermind that I ironed something like 9 yards of fabric and did actually spend a decent amount of time in my sewing room).  I need a new mantra.  One that focuses on what I actually got accomplished.  I was actually pretty done with the day by 10:30 this morning because by then I had already walked 30 minutes, eaten breakfast, fed kids, packed their lunches, gone to the Farmer's Market at the rec center, taken kids to swim lessons, and come home to collect their lunches and snacks for camp and was about to take to them to camp.  Maybe I should have just laid in bed and rested.

I cleaned up in the kitchen, ironed fabric, talked with my mom, paid bills, ate lunch, bought a bottle of wine, and picked up kids this afternoon.  In two hours, I'm going out to meet some new people to speak Italian with.  I also worked on some scheduling issues.

I guess it's time for me to go make salad dressing and warm up food for the troops.  Mmmm.  Food.

perspective, a day
