Just call me cranky

Feb 26, 2008 21:27

I had a relatively decent day until just before it was time to get the kids ready for bed when I lost it.  I'm just tired of fighting them to have a clean house -- or clean anything for that matter.  *weeps and is annoyed at self for being annoyed with them*

  • dragged self out of bed at 8:15 when DD1 came in and got me
  • stumbled around for a bit; ( Read more... )

You have milk delivery? In glass bottles, from a milkman, all the trimmings?

Yep. Milk in glass bottles from the milkman. He puts them in my cooler that I leave on the front step:) I love having milk delivered. It means I don't have to go to the grocery store weekly.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate hearing this over and over again! Maybe some day I'll really believe it too:) Thank you.

Interesting assumption, eh? It's true for me, but I know it's not always true. I have a feeling I close more doors than a lot of people do. I just can't deal with too much stuff on my plate. I feel overwhelmed pretty easily and I like not feeling overwhelmed.

I haven't read the door open article, but I will in a sec. As for toys and clutter- I can deal with some clutter, but yes, I get sick of fighting my kids on cleaning up too. It's really tough for me to remember that toys and clutter are MY problem, not theirs. Since we've been doing much battling about toy pickup lately- mainly me being a nagging grump and them whining about picking up- it's been on my mind a lot. I need to change my outlook and approach. I can't deal with stuff on the floors that i have to step over for more than an hour and I hate that they tromp all over their toys and books when they are on the floor. I'm torn over nonjudgmentally picking up the toys myself and hoping they will help.. or continuing to nag them about helping me.. or getting rid of a great many toys so it's easier for all of us to keep up with them. Argh. OK.. I'm done taking over your comment thread with my rant! :P

No problem. Take over any time:) Maybe next time we get together we should try to brainstorm ways out of this frustration!
