- got up and fed everyone (and showered)
- got milk put away
- delivered DD2 to school and paid for school picture
- went to grocery store with DD1 and fought with her the entire much of the time (it took over an hour)
- came home and got perishables put away
- fed DD1 and self
- listened to her read book and got her ready for school
- dropped DD1 off
- dashed over to library and checked out Pollan's new book In Defense of Food
- picked up DD2
- came home and attempted (many times) to get her to nap and failed (again!)
- finally gave up and started prepping dinner
- put more groceries away (at insistence of DD2)
- went to pick up DD1 who did not want to go home
- got in dilemma over whether or not to send her to her friend's house
- took her to friend's house; managed to keep DD2 awake
- came home and fixed dinner and kept DD2 entertained somehow
- ate dinner
- dashed to pick up DD1 at friend's house to the protest of DD2 who wanted to come (I sad. I miss you:().
- came home and ignored children and husband and played on computer
- informed husband that I was going out
- tried to sneak out but was caught by DD2 who didn't seem as upset as she had earlier
- left and ran to grocery store to get items at cheaper grocery store I couldn't get this morning
- ran to school and went to parenting session on resilient children (more about this in a minute)
- came home to a quiet house (I was in shock, truly!)
- got some nice snuggle time in with dh
- have just eaten some leftover cookies and am playing some scrabble
lillibet, the parenting session was interesting, but nothing I hadn't seen elsewhere. If you are familiar with Alfie Kohn, or Lawrence Cohen, many of the things this woman talked about would be familiar to you. I can recommend that you read Unconditional Parenting by Kohn and Playful Parenting by Cohen. Also of interest to you might be The Wonder of Girls by Michael Gurian.
So, it was a very busy day frought with tension. I'm glad I'm about to go to bed! Tomorrow is a new day and all that jazz. We're looking forward to helping a friend celebrate her second birthday tomorrow:)
