The frenzied life of a stay-at-home-mom

I've been running around in a frenzy of buying and when I'm at home it's been a frenzy of laundry. We bought some clothes and I finally have some nice sleeveless shirts for the summer plus one decent shirt. We got a new suitcase for travel too. I hope it's big enough. It's got wheels though; that's the most important thing. We bought a ton of games and toys for gifts for the upcoming birthday party frenzy. I bought most of them online. Today I went to the consignment shop and bought a baby stroller for the baby and a swim suit for DD1. We went to a new-to-us toy shop that was very cool. We'll be going back there soon, I'm sure. DD1 wanted to buy something for herself there. I just kept saying no and trying to distract her. It was as we were leaving.

Today I had a meeting at my house, then we ate lunch and were gone for three hours (we went to the library for a while too). When we got home, I managed to cook a sauce for the chicken (that I was supposed to have done yesterday, bake sweet potatoes, and make a bacon, mushroom, spinach "salad". I was feeling quite the domestic goddess:)

Happily, I have no laundry to wrestle tonight. I suppose that will be tomorrow's task. I don't understand laundry. I know that I don't have enough for a load tonight, but if I wait until tomorrow, it will be two loads. What's up with that?

At least I get a bit of a break tomorrow:) Hurray for breaks. I will of course be cooking, but that's ok. I need to make the green flavor bundles. I figured I could do that while DD1 is at preschool and then I won't have to cook when she gets home. I should prep those carrots too. Speaking of carrots, mo_hair, here's the recipe:

3 T oil
1/4 tsp minced red peppers or tabasco sauce
1 carrot, grated fine (We think it's 1 lb of carrots, but we're not sure...)
1 T grated ginger
1/4 cup red, barley or Hatcho miso

Heat wok or skillet and coat with oil. Add red pepper and saute 15
seconds. ADd grated carrot and ginger and saute 1 minute more. Stir
in miso and saute 6 more minutes. Remove from heat and allow to
cool.
