Under the Shadow of His Wings
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem...how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings..." Matthew 23:37
What is it like, the place under the shadow of His wings?
It's a place of love and kindness, of rescue and protection, of favor, rest and safety. A place where we learn to trust in His protection. Where we rest in thankful joy in His mercy. The place where we find help and deliverance from our foes. Where He hides us in His mercy. The place of salvation. The place where we are with the Lord. (see Psalms 17, 36, 57, 63) It sounds like a place of warm embrace, where one's heart is made to glow. The place where He rejoices over us and quiets us with His love (Zephaniah 3:17). Where He brings us home and makes us His own forever.
