"Christ has redeemed us ... that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:13-14
When God said that in Abraham "all the families of the earth shall be blessed," was God referring to the promise of the outpouring of His Holy Spirit? (Genesis 12:3) Is God's blessing and the promise of the indwelling of God's Spirit ever promised in the same breath in the Old Testament?
"For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring" Isaiah 44:3
"He has helped His servant Israel in remembrance of His mercy as He spoke to ... Abraham ..." Luke 1:54-55
Jesus calls the Holy Spirit "the Helper" throughout John 14-16.
"To remember ... the oath which He swore to our father Abraham: to grant us that we ... might serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him..." Luke 1:72-75
