Amen. And thank you for posting this verse from John. While I was studying the early sermons of Acts (Acts 2:14-40, 3:12-26, 4:8-12, 5:29-32), I kept seeing this. In the first sermon, most of the preaching was about the Lord Jesus, but it ended with the command to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus 'the Anointed One':
Acts 2:37-39 - "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Men and brethren, what shall we do?' Then Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.'"
It's interesting to look at these sermons and see the different ways that the apostles teach about Jesus, his Person, his life, the plan of God the Father, the promise of the Holy Spirit, and the conversion of sinners. Praise the Lord for His wonderful word and the salvation He gives us through the Lord Jesus!
Acts 3:19-20 - "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ..."
Acts 4:12 - "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 5:31 - "Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.”
