God Came

On Habakkuk chapter 3, with consideration of Habakkuk 2:4:

"Has the prophet departed from the realm of prayer by turning to this description of the coming of God in all his glory? No, for the reality of God's coming in past and future provides the basis for faith that assures life as he prays and waits. Rather than leaving his petition barely uttered, the prophet provides a framework of faith which will sustain him as well as all those supplicants that would join him through the ages. The Lord has come, and the Lord is coming. Therefore all who wait patiently for him shall live." -page 220 of The Books of Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah by O. Palmer Robertson. Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1990.

The Lord has come. (Habakkuk 3:3)
And the Lord is coming. (Revelation 3:11, 22:7, 22:12, 22:20)
