These messages are quite candid, but they were expressed in sincerity and honesty to someone I cared about very much. I'm sharing excerpts from them because they offer a really interesting glimpse into my Christian experience at the time.

I am amazed by the level of similarities we(people) have on the spiritual sturggles we go through in our lives. Two days back a brother in christ from South Africa shared to me his struggles which are similar to your past experiences...most especially trying by our strength and intelligence to be christians(this also relates greatly with me), which only results in trusting in ourselves and not in God. Seeing where you are now in your faith from those past years("you no longer try to be but your heart has been changed, allowing you to be"), brings encouragement and meaning to me for your testimony is a witness to God's promise of salvation. God indeed is merciful and patient slowly by slowly he is refining his children to his heart and ways.

All is well thus far, in fact i have been meaning to inform you about the latest developments. A week ago after a meeting with my supervisors God opened the way for a research area in the area of Switch Reluctance Motors (SRM). They seem to be potential candidates for future use in electrical vehicles. A research topic is not final yet, however i believe God with me, through this work a good research topic will germinate. I am thankful to God for all your prayers for atleast now i have a research area to work on. Please continue to pray for me that i may have more time for personal bible study and prayer and that my research work may lead to the glory of God...otherwise please also let me know of your prayer requests.

This is wonderful news - praise the Lord! May He guide your research topic as it is finalized and bless you with more time to meet with Him in Bible study & prayer.

As for me, one prayer topic that I would really appreciate prayer on is for me to not be afraid of children. I have always been uncomfortable and fearful around them. Just last Sunday, I helped in child care and cared for a couple of babies. It was really nerve-wracking, but the Lord was kind and surrounded me with the help of many kind people. May God continue to show grace to me so I will learn to love children as Christ does.
