Stalwart
I am really tired after today (work 9:00-1:00 followed by studying and class until 9:00 pm), but I did want to record one observation:
Two men of the military stood outside our main campus library today in full uniform. I watched them from the seventh story window where I work when no one was around and they didn't even sway. I wasn't sure if they were acting as guard or just standing as a reminder, or maybe acting in a way to communicate - silently - to the public.
Whichever it was, I was really moved by their stalwart-symbol. I thought then, 'How rare and how wonderful it is that I get the chance to see someone with unwavering dedication to the act of 'serve'-ing.'
