This year I helped a friend haunt her yard with her husband. As E says, it's taken her a number of years to get past the scary stuff to where she could enjoy DH's obssession with scaring others...but now it's fun. She's made a nice
little website with some pics of the yard. I'm proud to say I carved all three pumpkins in the scarecrow tower.
For my costume, I recycled pieces of the "Wicked/Elphaba" costume I sewed several years ago for a dance competition: the skirt features illumination at the press of a button hidden in my hand: 8 plunging cascades of flashing green LEDs with clusters of golden yellow LEDs firing at the hem, and since it's black, it doesn't really matter at night if the waistband doesn't quite meet. I wore a plain black turtleneck sweater against the chill, and my wacky distressed witches hat with sheer spiderweb "follow mes." Pale green glitter all over my face. It's not easy being green. I'll have to find some pics.
